CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE EDDY ARAGON
COMMENTS ON ACQUITTAL OF PRESIDENT TRUMP
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, Feb. 13, 2021 – Eddy Aragon, candidate to replace Deb Haaland in an upcoming special election to represent New Mexico’s first congressional district, commented on today’s acquittal by the U.S. Senate of all impeachment charges against President Trump:
“It’s symbolic that Michelle Lujan Grisham was in Washington D.C. during the vote on impeachment, instead of home for the re-opening of her state,” Aragon said. “As the leader of New Mexico’s Democrats, she would rather try to criminalize a private citizen of Florida than help the people back home.
“We are in the eleventh month of a national and global health crisis. But Democrats wasted time with an impeachment they knew would fail, instead of working to move America forward.
“To date, the Senate has confirmed only eight members of President Biden’s cabinet, while more than 20 nominations linger in committee. Meanwhile, the administration’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package has stalled in Congress.
“New Mexico’s Democrats play games while our people suffer. This is the real impeachable crime.”
